Geophysical Survey Services for Mineral Exploration
Our geophysical survey services use three methods: magnetic and radiometric surveys from the air by drone, and electromagnetic (EM) surveys on foot. We collect the data, process it, and interpret it.
Flown by an FAA Part 107 licensed pilot with more than 2,500 hours on unmanned aircraft, flying them since 1992. Certified Mapping Scientist, UAS (ASPRS).

What each Method Shows
-
Magnetic (by drone): small changes in the earth's magnetic field caused by the rock below. It traces faults, contacts and intrusions under soil and gravel. Flown with a Geometrics MagArrow II magnetometer.
-
Radiometric (by drone): natural radiation from potassium, uranium and thorium at the surface. It maps alteration and rock types, and it is a direct tool for uranium. Flown with a Georadis D230A gamma-ray spectrometer.
-
Electromagnetic, or EM (on the ground): how easily the ground conducts electricity, measured at several frequencies at once. Conductive zones can point to clay alteration, sulfides, groundwater or buried metal. Run on foot with a Geophex GEM-2 handheld multi-frequency sensor.

Which one fits your target?
-
Uranium: radiometrics is usually the first look.
-
Faults, contacts and intrusions under cover: magnetics.
-
Conductive targets such as sulfides, clay alteration or groundwater: EM.
-
Many projects run more than one method over the same ground. Tell us what you're looking for and we'll recommend the mix.

Works best with
A survey finds the targets. The next steps prove them up, and the same team can take them:
-
Fly LiDAR over the same ground for an accurate base map (Drone LiDAR and photogrammetry)
-
Sample the anomalies to see what is causing them (Soil and rock chip sampling)
-
Take hard-rock core from a target a drill rig can't reach (Soil and rock chip sampling)
-
Stake claims over the best targets (Claim staking)
-
Put every survey and result on one map (GIS and 3D modeling)
-
Permit the drilling when the targets are ready (Permitting)
